Statistical characteristic of dynamic Body Area Network channel

چکیده
Body Area Networks (BANs) are wearable wireless sensor networks with a high potential for medical applications. For wireless communication inside the human body, the tissue medium acts as a channel through which the information is sent as electromagnetic (EM) radio frequency (RF) waves. Thus, losses in channel are in the form of fading due to multipath, reflection, diffraction, and scattering. To understand the narrowband radio channel around the torso at the 2.45 GHz, we have modeled a Rice distribution for communication in this channel. Computer simulation is performed to generate Rician fading channel, discuss the effects of fading channel on a transmitted signal and measure the Probability of errors for signals detected after passing through receiver.

SUMMARY This study aims how to contain the environment reflection in a dynamic on-body ultra wideband (UWB) channel model. Based on a measurement approach, it is demonstrated that a complete body area channel model can be regarded as a combination of the on-body propagation characteristic and additional components from the environment. Based on such a channel model, the effect of environment re...
